In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? · Representation: Have you subverted or conform to stereotypes typical of your genre? Take some screen shots of characters from yours and compare to screen shots from characters of other trailer. Write an analysis of the representation in your trailer. Our trailer mostly conforms to the general stereotypes of action thriller genres because of the stereotypes that we used. For example our main character who is our protagonist is wearing relatively smart clothes which conforms to business people in action thriller films who are seen to be well educated and smartly dressed. We also use different types of props in our trailer which conforms to the general stereotypes of action thriller films, for example in our trailer we use a gun, rope and cars which are props which would be usually seen in action thriller films. I decided to compare the characters in our trailer to other in t...

(Storyline)

Storyline We are hoping to create and action/thriller film that could possibly include a robbery or either a kidnapping. The kidnapping will take place because of a multi-millionaire who is holding a grudge over someone who has done him wrong in the past. The multi-millionaire phones up a couple of hitmen while he is abroad on holiday in Barcelona so he is far away and will not get caught up in the trouble, he then asks them if they can do him a favour by locating the man who is wanted and abducting him from broad daylight. He will then be taken to secret location tied up to a chair with gun pointing towards his head. Once this is done the rich businessman will be given the heads up where he will then phone one of the family members of the person who has been abducted. The businessman will then ask something along the lines of ‘I need £20 000 by midnight otherwise you can say goodbye to your little friend.’ At the start of the trailer there will be some opening establishing shot...

Storyboard This is our ruff storyboard which has our initial ideas on it. This is our official storyboard for our trailer Race Against Time, we created this storyboard using paint which is a program where you can draw or paint images on to a white background. When we completed each of the scenes we opened up Adobe Premiere Elements 15 and added each of the scenes to the time line to make it look like a cinematic storyboard.

(Practice Institutions)

Image
Practice Institutions This is one of our institutions which we used in our trailer, this institution was copied from last years production. We decided to copy it across to this year because we thought that it was very effective and because it stands out, due to the fact that the animation looks really good and well made. As this is a trailer we are going to need to speed this up because as our trailer is based on an action thriller film it is fast paced which conforms to the conventions of action thriller films.

(Script)

Script This is our script which we will be following in our trailer... SCRIPT- RACE AGAINST TIME · GHALIB: I need to get a job done, how much would it cost. (Both thugs jump out of a car as it pulls up alongside of callum and throw a couple of punches in attempt to get callum in the car.) Callum D: (SCREAMING) who you are! Get off me! (Kidnappers throw callum in the boot, slam boot and drive anyway.) Ghalib: (sitting in a dark room picks up his phone and rings callum) Callum I have your brother but there is no need to worry transfer me £1 million and he will be safe. Ghalib: (phone rings...

(Mood Board)

Image
Mood Board This is a mood board on thriller that we created. We created this using power point by copying and pasting images from the internet that we believed were linked to an action thriller film and put them on to the page with a black background so the images stand out. We than added some words that we thought were related to thriller and added them onto the page, for example chase scenes are very important and widely used in action thriller films because it creates tension and engages the audience into the film.
