Evaluation 2

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

· Narrative: How do you establish the narrative in your trailer and what is established in the other two productions? How do they work together to sell your product?

In our trailer we establish the narrative by having the antagonist phone some thugs to kidnap the protagonists brother, which leads to the protagonist getting a phone call from the antagonist saying that they have kidnapped his brother. This then leads to the protagonist going on a mission to try and save his brother. In my magazine production we can establish the name of the magazine which is Movie Time, this can be easily seen because the title of the magazine is easy to read and see because of the bold text. We can also establish the price of the magazine as it is located on the cover page of the magazine above the bar code, for the colour of the price we used a bright red which will stand out because the background of the magazine is in a darker colour. The picture used establishes the characters in the trailer because they can be easily seen as the image in the middle is large and takes up the cover page. The poster establishes the characters in the film because the image covers the whole poster with the same image what was used on the cover of the magazine, so this is how the audience recognise the film. The poster also establishes the name of the film and the names of the actors who star in the film with a slogan, these can be easily seen as the text is bold which makes it stand out. All the productions used work well together because we kept the same images throughout each production which means that it is easily recognised with our target audience and fans of our production. The information used on each production helps to sell the product overall because if they where different it wouldn't make sense to the audience as it would leave them confused.

· Brand Identity: How have you established a brand identity? Use snips to show how things like slogans were used in different productions to promote the film and establish brand identity.

We have established the brand identity by using slogans, images and titles in each of our productions. For example our slogan is 'Time Really Does Kill' which is effective because it links to the name of the film which is called Race Against Time because the protagonist only has a certain amount of time to save his brother before he is harmed. This slogan helps to establish our brand identity because we have used it for both the poster and the magazine which means that people are going to be able to easily recognise it

· Codes and Conventions: How have you established genre across the three products? Use some snips from each to show how you have indicated genre across your portfolio productions.
