This trailer is for Die Hard 4 which will appeal to a male audience who are teenage upwards because of all the high action scenes in the film. This film is also the fourth film in the Die Hard series so this means that people who have seen the other movies are probably going to want to watch this latest one. The main character is well known for these types of film roles which means he will already have a large fan base, this is effective for the audience because it allows them to see who is staring in the film. This film was given an age rating of 15 because of its strong language and violent scenes, this means the film will not be suitable for young audiences. 

Voice overs

During the trailer there are no voice overs, just clips from the film like flash backs to give teasers about the film to make you more interested about the film.

Dramatic camera shots and angles
The dramatic shots and angles in this trailer are very effective and well used because it helps to draw the audience into the film and to make them forget about every day life helping them become emerged in the film. Lots of close ups and panning shots were used in this trailer which makes the clip more dramatic, this is effective for the audience because it makes them feel intense so that they fell that they are apart of the action film.  

Music to create atmosphere

Dramatic music was used in this trailer to create an intense atmosphere, for example in this trailer they used the musical piece Beethoven Ninth which was played on electric guitar. This was effective because while the music was playing it made the trailer speed up making it look more like a action film. 

Mise-en-scene

The film is set in America, you can tell this from the trailer because the area has tall buildings in it and the police during the trailer have American police cars and uniform. We can also tell that its based in America because during the trailer you are able to see a map of North America. This film shows the character wearing plain dark clothes which suggests that he doesn't want to stand out in the public. During the trailer the setting is mostly dark so you have to concentrate on whats happening during the scenes, because you may miss something important.

Editing
The use of the editing in this trailer is effective because it is fast paced and full of action, which links to the film being an action thriller one because it includes lots of action scenes and explosions in it. This is effective for the audience because it lets them know that this film is going to include lots of fast paced scenes through out the film making it more interesting for the audience to watch.

Sound

The sound during the trailer was very good and effective because it matched with parts of the scenes, for example there are lots of explosions which suggests that this film is going to include lots of action scenes. The trailer also includes lots of gun shots which means that it also links to the film being an action thriller one.
Genre indicators

This trailer is a good genre indicator because the trailer gives the audience a lot of information about the film. For example during the trailer you are able to see that this film is based on a man who has to try and stop some sort of villains from causing destruction to the country. This means that the character is going to need to go under cover and try to stop what ever is happening before its to late. Overall this lets the audience know that the film is going to be an action thriller film because of all the action scenes which can be seen in the trailer.

Unique selling point

The unique selling point in this trailer for the film Die Hard 4 is that it included many famous and well known actors, for example Bruce Willis, Maggie Grace, Justine Long and John McShane. These well known actors would make the film audience much bigger because of all the other successful films that they have been in, making the film more popular. Another unique selling point is the fact that this film is the fourth installment of the series which means that people who have watched the other three are going to watch the next one so they can follow the next part of the story. One last unique selling point is the fact that this film was directed by Len Wiseman who has also worked on films like Godzilla, Men in Black and Independence Day.
