Dramatic camera shots and angles
The dramatic shots and angles in this trailer are very effective and well used because it helps to draw the audience into the film and to make them forget about every day life helping them become emerged in the film. An example of a camera shot used would be an extreme close up of the characters eyes at the start of the trailer, this camera shot is effective because it shows the audience parts of his facial expression and you are able to see into his eyes which look angry.
Genre indicators
This trailer is a good genre indicator because the trailer gives the audience a lot of information about the film. For example during the trailer you are able to see that this film is based on a disabled man who has been sent to a new planet to make contact with these new species of alien, they have transformed him into on of the aliens and are making him talk to them to let the humans take over which leads to a massive war. From this trailer it also tells us that it is going to be a sci fi film because it is set on a new planet which has aliens on it which aren't related to humans.
Unique selling point
The unique selling point in this trailer for the film Avatar is that it is directed by James Cameron who has worked on films like Titanic, Aliens and Terminator which are very popular to people who like a mixture of genres. This film also includes actors like Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver and Sam Worthington who have been in many popular and successful films throughout the years. Another unique selling point is that the film includes lots of new and fancy technology which made the film more appealing to people because they wanted to see how much better the new technology improved the film, making it the biggest grossing film in the world.
